PhysMath Central Blog

Something which we are passionate about here is the use and re-use of data by - for instance - data-miners seeking new insights into work which has already taken place. Whilst we practise what we preach (all articles on BMC, CC and PMC are freely available in their XML/MathML forms to all) - we can see this being a lot more interesting with the data of experiments hosted alongside the article itself. Not only does this allow the reader to perform their own analyses on the data, it also helps to prevent fraud and may even be used in subsequent studies to reach novel conclusions.
Whilst it is not possible to host terabytes of data associated with e.g. particle collisions, it is possible to host more manageable data from other fields. And there has been a surge in interest of this recently. Here are a few links which may help us on our way to an interconnected web of data.
