Last night's Horizon on the LHC

We managed to come to some domestic agreement whereby I could watch the football and record Horizon at the same time. I was glad we did. Although somewhat slow-paced, the documentary brought particle physics into the homes of millions of Britons at primetime - something we should be grateful for.

It interviewed many luminaries of the field including Brian Cox, Alvaro de Rujula, Leon Lederman, Lisa Randall, Dave Spergel and others and is well worth watching if you can, even if the disembodied head effect of the speakers is somewhat disconcerting. There is even a video podcast on the Horizon site with a 8 minute summary of the 50 minute programme. It's free, but at 20MB, you might want to go and make a cup of tea as it's downloading.
