On Friday the 13th I'll be casting aside superstition and hopping on a plane to the US to make my way down to Jacksonville in Florida. This is all part of the grand plan to get to the APS meeting there and announce the launch of PhysMath Central.
Specifically we'll be drawing everyone's attention to PMC Physics A, our first journal covering nuclear & particle physics, gravity, cosmology, astroparticle physics and instrumentation and data analysis.
Despite my promises of last week, the identity of our editor-in-chief will not be revealed until then!
However, if you are at the APS meeting, come and say hello and take part in our little particle game. The idea is simple. Draw a card out of a bag. The card has a particle (or virtual particle) on it. Someone else at the conference has the same particle as you. Find them and bring them to the PhysMath Central stand for you both to win a prize. Who said opposites attract?!
