Sixth International Congress on Vascular Dementia, Barcelona Spain November 19-22, 2009

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our pleasure to invite you to the Sixth International Congress on Vascular Dementia 2009, Barcelona, Spain, 19-22 November 2009.

This congress is a showcase for the discussion of new developments in the area of dementia with special attention to cerebrovascular diseases affecting cognition. During the congress we shall have the opportunity to deliberate on large and small brain vessel diseases and how they contribute to cognitive decline. We will discuss specific biological and psychological markers, of vascular dementia, and also the genetic factors involved. The overlap with Alzheimer’s disease will be a central issue, as will be the white matter changes frequently seen in patients with dementia.

While we are still lacking effective therapies for dementia in general, several new approaches will be presented and discussed.

Our CME accredited program features 4 Plenary sessions, 19 scientific symposia, 4 free communications sessions, 2 company sponsored symposia and of course a full schedule of poster presentations covering all aspects of vascular dementia.

In addition, we are delighted to include in this years program a ‘Bring Your Cases’ session on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 19:30; we hope you will participate.

Join us and 1100 professionals from 64 countries for this unique congress.

Looking forward to seeing you in Barcelona,

Yours sincerely,
James F. Toole
