Chemistry Central Journal announces two new editorial board members

We are delighted to welcome the following newcomers to the editorial advisory board.

Dr William Jones of the materials chemistry group at Cambridge University joins the solid state editorial board.

Dr Jones' research involves the study of the layered inorganic solids for their environmental applications as well as potential use in developing advanced materials. His group also carries out computational modelling to understand crystal packing at a quantitative level as well as to determine crystal structure. The group is a major contributor to the Pfizer Institute for Pharmaceutical Materials Science.

Professor James D. Kubicki of the department of geosciences and materials research at the Pennsylvania State university joins the editorial boards of geochemistry and mineralogy.

Prof Kubicki's research focuses on determining atomic structures in non-crystalline systems and geochemical reaction mechanisms. His particular areas of interest include mineral surfaces, dissolution, metal-organic complexation, structure of natural organic matter, contaminant chemistry and silicate glass structure.

He was the program chair for the ACS division of Geochemistry from 2004 to 2005, and presently has membership of the Environmental Molecular Science Institute (EMSI), Center for Environmental Chemistry and Geochemistry (CECG) and Biogeochemical Research Initiative in Education (BRIE). He is also one of the project personnel for the ChemXSeer project.
