Chemistry Central at the ACS Meeting

Chemistry Central will be once again attending the American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition, 16-19 August in Washington DC, USA.

If you are planning to attend the ACS Meeting, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you there. Please feel free to stop by the Chemistry Central booth (#2012).

We'll be interested to discuss with you the latest developments at Chemistry Central.

Support for open access publishing within the chemistry community is increasing, and we value feedback from scientists in order to maintain the growth. Chemistry Central now publishes 3 journals: Chemistry Central Journal (covering all areas of chemistry); Journal of Cheminformatics; and Journal of Systems Chemistry; and supports BioMed Central in publishing Geochemical Transactions. Chemistry Central Journal achieved its first Impact Factor of 0.82 last month.

If you are not available to meet at the ACS Meeting, or are not attending but would still like to share your thoughts, please let us know and we can make contact at a later date.

We also draw your attention to some interesting technical sessions at the ACS Meeting.

On Sunday 16 August there is a session on Chemical Text Mining and Public Molecular Databases, which includes a presentation from Tony Williams on "Building an integrated system for chemistry markup and online publishing integrated to online chemistry resources".

Also on Sunday 16 August there is a session on Copyright and Author Rights, including a presentation from Steven Bachrach on "Implementing an open access policy at Trinity University".

And, on Monday 17 August and Wednesday 19 August there is a session Federated Search: Beyond Traditional A&I Services, which includes a presentation by Josef Eiblmaier entitled "Federated search in commercial and non-commercial structure and reaction databases: A flexible approach".
