Winner of the BioMed Central/Retrovirology award for HTLV-1 research announced
We are pleased to announce that Prof. Charles Bangham, Chairman of Immunology at
Imperial College, has been awarded the 2007 BioMed
Central/Retrovirology award for HTLV-1 research. The award recognises
outstanding contributions to the field of Human T-lymphotropic virus-1 (HTLV-1) research.
Kuan-Teh Jeang, Editor-in-Chief of Retrovirology, presented the award to Prof. Bangham at the 13th International Conference on Human Retrovirology; HTLV and Related Viruses, held in Japan. As the recipient of the award, Prof Bangham received a cheque for $1000.
Prof Bangham has co-authored two recent articles in Retrovirology:
- Zidovudine plus lamivudine in Human T-Lymphotropic Virus type-I-associated myelopathy: a randomised trial (Sept 2006)
