Globalization and Health establishes an affiliation with the London School of Economics

Globalization and Health recently established an affiliation with the London School of Economics (LSE), with Emma Pitchforth, Senior Research Fellow at LSE Health, joining Dr Greg Martin as co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

Elias Mossialos, Director of LSE Health and member of the journal's Editorial Board, explained that Globalization & Health was an ideal match for the Centre's mission:

"The mission of LSE Health is to advance and transmit knowledge and understanding through the conduct of research, teaching and scholarship at the highest international standards, for the benefit of the international and national health policy community. A PubMed indexed, open access journal provides the right forum to communicate our research and ideas to the international health policy community.

In addition to the appointment of Emma Pitchforth as co-Editor-in-Chief, a number of new members have joined the Editorial Board including:

  • Dr Nick Drager, Director, World Health Organization
  • Dr Hannah E.Kettler, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
  • Prof Alan Whiteside, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, SA
  • Prof Srinath Reddy, President, Public Health Foundation of India
  • Prof Michael Reich, Professor of International Health Policy, Harvard School of Public Health
Globalization and Health hopes to set an example to all other global health journals in terms of the diverse range of perspectives represented in its publications and its ability to interact across a kaleidoscopic array of disciplines.
